Tijjani Babangida and Wife Maryam Waziri Hospitalized After Road Accident Claims Brother's Life and Son

A devastating incident occurred  on Thursday when a car crash along the Kaduna to Zaria road, hospitalized former Super Eagles player Tijjani Babangida, his wife Maryam Waziri Popularly known as Layla from Labarina Movie, and claimed the life of Tijjani Babangida younger brother, Ibrahim Babangida, and their son. According to a statement by Emmanuel Babayaro, general secretary of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), the family was traveling together when the incident occurred. Ibrahim Babangida a younger brother to Tijjani Babangida died immediately, while their son (Fadeel Tijjani Babangida) passed away a day later due to injuries sustained in the accident.

The Actress Maryam Waziri, who was involved in the accident with her husband Tijjani Babangida, has undergone facial surgery and is recovering well, Alhamdulillah. The surgery was successful under the guidance of Dr. Abubakar Gumi. Her husband Tijjani, who escaped with minor injuries, has been transferred to Abuja for further medical check-ups and is in good health.

Maryam Waziri, a popular Kannywood actress known for her role as Layla in the movie "Labarina," underwent face surgery due to severe facial damage sustained during the accident. Tijjani Babangida has been transferred to another hospital in Abuja for further treatment.

Tijjani Babangida, a former Nigerian winger, had a successful career with the Super Eagles and played for several clubs, including Ajax, where he won the Eredivisie and KNVB Cup double in 1998.

Maryam Waziri was born on November 9, 1992, in Gombe State, Nigeria. She grew up in Gombe state and attended primary and secondary school. She graduated from the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) and has since become one of the most beloved and a Popular actresses in the Hausa film industry of Kannywood.

Tijjani Babangida has been admitted at Shika Hospital in Zaria and later transferred to Abuja for further medical check-ups, where he is receiving treatment and, to the glory of God, he is conscious. The late Ibrahim, 47, a retired footballer himself, was a member of the 1993 FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning Golden Eagles squad in Japan.
