Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, has called on the federal government to provide additional reinforcements to combat the ongoing security crisis in the state. Governor Radda made the call during, during his visit to Wurma and Birci Local communities due to the attack by bandits in the area in the late hours.

 The incessant attacks earlier in the day, provoked a protest in Birchi.

The call was made in the statement issued by Governor Dikko Umar Radda's chief press secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Muhammad.

The Katsina State Government has stressed the urgent need for the Federal Government reinforcement to effectively eliminate the banditry issue affecting the state and nation at large.

Accompanied by Senior officials, Governor Dikko Umar Radda offered his condolences visits to the affect victims' families and the entire community. He acknowledged the legitimacy of the recent protest force due the attack and urged residents to remain calm while the government is taking action.

Meanwhile, while at Wurma, Governor Dikko Umar Radda spooked about the ongoing efforts making by his administration to address the security challenges. He also mentioned the deployment of 100 security personnel to Birchi. He also promised to ensure daily sustenance for the affected victims of the community. He expressed his deep sorrow for the lives lost.

The community expressed appreciation for Governor Dikko Umar Radda’s visit and leadership.

They acknowledged the ongoing challenges but pledged their continued support for the Governor Dikko Umar Radda government’s efforts.

The of Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda has condemns the bandits attack in Mai-Ruwa town of Faskari LGA, Which lead to the death of two individuals and the Kidnapping of two others.

Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda has expressed his position during his visit to offer a condolence to the families of Alh. Abdulhamid which also known as Lado Mai-ruwa, and a certain Sani Abdullahi who were Killed by Banditss. The criminals who attack the late Alhaji Mai-ruwa’s residence last weekend not only killed two people but also Kidnap one of his spouses and his teenage daughter. During a statement released on Tuesday, Abdullahi Yar’adua, The Director of press to the secretary to the Katsina State Government, quoted the Governor Malam Dikko Umaar Radda’s representative, Abdullahi Faskari, as attacking heartless act.

During a had talk with journalist, 18 year old Umar Abdulhamid, the son of late Alhaji Lado, narrate how the armed attackers rudely stormed their home around 8:00 pm during evening prayers. 

They fired shots randomly which leads to fatal shooting of his father and their neighbor. Umar mentioned that his stepmother and younger sister were also abducted during the chaos. 

The locals appreciated the governor's concern and his administration's continuous efforts to address insecurity issues within Katsina state. They, however, urged the Federal Government to intensify its efforts in combating the bandits that are causing terror in the region. In a new development, bandits have kidnapped 13 individuals in Katsina, looting properties valued at millions of naira. 

This fresh attack occurred in Kurechin Giye village of Makera Ward in Dutsinma Local Government Area, the criminals, armed with sophisticated weapons, pillaged the village, seizing belongings and terrorizing the residents, while there was no immediate security response. These abductions are part of a disturbing trend in Katsina and other regions in the North-West and North-East, where criminal activities like kidnapping and banditry have been on the rise. Katsina, in particular, has been severely affected by these repeated incident.
